(Read daily. Read when wondering what to do next.)
Always do that which yields the best value, the best benefit, and the best outcome—short term and long term, individually and universally.
Always seek to better understand the character and perfections of Jesus Christ, and to manifest Him in how you live every day of your life.
Continually ask yourself:
- What do you sincerely believe Jesus would do? And what would Jesus NOT do?
- What would the ideal you do? And what would the ideal you NOT do?
- What would a real hero do? And what would a hero not do? Be the hero in your own journey.
Zoom out to whatever resolution you are best able to comprehend.
Be a stoic; but be a joyful stoic. Do not follow the passions or wants of the flesh. Rather, simply do what is truly best.
Exercise self-discipline, self-denial, meekness, submissiveness, and lowliness of heart. Continually offer for a sacrifice a broken heart and a contrite spirit. Expect suffering, sacrifice, and heartache. Remember that the Lord offers no witness until after the trial of your faith.
Always tell the truth, or at least don’t lie.
Always do what’s best, or at least don’t do any harm.
Do not sacrifice your standards or ideals for short-term convenience.
Be sober. Be righteous. Be virtuous. It’s almost impossible to be sober, righteous, or virtuous at a party.
Continually ask yourself, “Am I about to do this [or am I doing this] for selfish pleasure and entertainment, or because it is truly the best and wisest thing to do?” Immediately change course as needed.
Deny yourself of all worldliness and carnal lusts. “Behold, I give unto you a commandment, that ye suffer none of these things to enter into your heart; for it is better that ye should deny yourselves of these things, wherein ye will take up your cross, than that ye should be cast into hell.” (3 Nephi 12:29 – 30) My complete desire should be to love God with all my heart, might, mind, and strength, and to be a follower of righteousness.
Do not ever suppose that any compromise with sin will lead to happiness or a favorable outcome. “Do not suppose, because it has been spoken concerning restoration, that ye shall be restored from sin to happiness. Behold, I say unto you, wickedness never was happiness. And now, my son, all men that are in a state of nature, or I would say, in a carnal state, are in the gall of bitterness and in the bonds of iniquity; they are without God in the world, and they have gone contrary to the nature of God; therefore, they are in a state contrary to the nature of happiness.” (Alma 41:10 – 11)
One of the great deceptions of Satan is that we can find happiness in sin, in pursuing pleasure, defending our vanity, and compromising with evil. But sooner or later we need to learn that these things invariably cause great sorrow and misery. On the other hand, the whole point of living the gospel of Jesus Christ is that it leads to the greatest happiness. The problem is that we don’t really believe that. We think that participating in feel-good activities, seeking pleasure, and having fun will make us happy; but it doesn’t; these things make us very miserable because, as it turns out, our joy and happiness is based on improvement, making the best use of our time, serving others, and experiencing the love of God, not in experiencing the very brief thrills this world has to offer.
Remember that when we selfishly sin, we betray ourselves, our loved ones, and our God. We do great harm. And so, it is vital that we continually remember wisdom and consider the vast consequences for all our actions.
Be honest. Do not rationalize. Think things through.
Do not just go the easy way. Do not operate by the Feel-Good mode of thinking; but rather, do what is truly best.
Pray always. And be true.
Remember that without constant, consistent, humble, honest, and sincere vigilance in prayer, together with perfect repentance, that mighty faith in Christ remains impossible. Pray and meditate continually, to whatever extent is possible. Without regular and continuous prayer and meditation, we become scatterbrained, foolish, and vulnerable to the possibility of sin. But as we become unified with Jesus, with his virtue and power flowing through us, we become mighty in faith, able to withstand all temptation, overcoming all things, becoming mighty pillars of righteousness within the household of faith.
Your focus becomes your reality. By waxing mighty in prayer, mighty in scripture study, and mighty in faith, our focus becomes clearer and clearer in understanding the character and will of Jesus Christ, and in living in harmony with Him.
Let your constant prayer always be: I pray that I can love the Lord Jesus as I should, with all my heart, might, mind, and strength. I pray that I can always keep all the commandments as I should. I pray I can always do what is truly best. I pray that I can always be valiant in the testimony of Christ, and altogether cease from sin. I pray that I can correctly assess the value in all things, especially in Christ’s character, promises, and doctrines. And most of all, I pray that I can be filled with charity, even the pure love of Christ.
Actively participate in activities calculated to reprogram your mind and emotions to reflect the mind and character of Christ. Participate in rituals and protocols calculated to achieve the full stature of Christ in this life and in the world to come.
Begin each day by doing those thing that cause (or perpetuate) the Mighty Change of Heart and the Baptism of Fire. This daily renewal is key in living a life without sin.

Moroni 10
30 And again I would exhort you that ye would come unto Christ, and lay hold upon every good gift, and touch not the evil gift, nor the unclean thing.
31 And awake, and arise from the dust, O Jerusalem; yea, and put on thy beautiful garments, O daughter of Zion; and strengthen thy stakes and enlarge thy borders forever, that thou mayest no more be confounded, that the covenants of the Eternal Father which he hath made unto thee, O house of Israel, may be fulfilled.
32 Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.
33 And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot.
